The SCP-3085 deletion incident was a community event in the SCP Wiki that took place on June 15th 2021, after a dispute between the author “ObserverSeptember” and SCP Wiki staff’s Licensing Team. The original SCP-3085 was self-deleted as a political statement and protest against perceived overreach by Licensing Team’s claims about the licensing status of an off-site link. After a Licensing staff member, City Toast aka Reixis, proposed editing a link out of the article because of a belief it was violating copyright of the “Jagex” game developer, the author deleted the article outright, protesting an action which he claimed “would be laughed out of any courtroom in America”.[1]

ObserverSeptember’s unprompted response to this was to state for the record that the Licensing Team were “a bunch of stinky poopyheads” while requesting that the information was shared with the public. The original article has since been archived on the SCP Classic website.[2]

This is following a pattern of authors in 2021 self-deleting or attempting to self-delete their works in protest of the SCP Wiki staff’s policies.
